Hold Your Head High.

By: Smokey Foe.

“I've been found out... My parents will disown me and the rest of my family will hate me.” I said to myself, as I walked away from the school. My tears feel down from cheek. Then I felt a football hit me in the back of my head. I looked around and saw three other boys. I was terrified. These were my teammates. My fellow foot ball players.

They looked angry. I felt like running but my body wouldn't move. I was at there mercy. Then they started laughing.

“Sorry boys I couldn't keep up that act...” Garth said in between his laughs.

I however was confused as Hell.

“No worries dude.” garth came up to me and hugged me. I blushed not knowing what to do.

“You guys don't hate me?” I asked confused. Garth started laughing even harder.

“Course not bro. You’re my best friend.” He said honestly.

“Th… Thank you…” I said feeling Like bawling my eyes out. Then I did.

“What’s wrong? You should be happy you’ve got freedom now…” He said with confusion in his voice.

“My parents will never accept me.” I cried. He looked at me with sympathetic eyes.

“If they don’t then I will!” He said kindly.

“What?” I asked confused.

“You can come live with me in my apartment.” He said with Kindness.

“I dunno…” I said not sure of what to say.

“Just know I’m there if you need me.” He said Hinting at something else. Could he be… Nah no way. I smiled at him. Feeling a lot better.

“Now go home and face what you’ve got to face.” He said with a smile I nodded yes. I was still nervous.

I ran to my home. I walked in not knowing what to expect. My parents and younger brother were setting there.

I lowered my head thinking the worst was going to happen.

“We Know and we don’t care.” said my dad. A shocked look appeared on my face.

“What?” I asked not getting it.

“Son we know we’ve known since you were a little boy.” My mom said. I couldn’t believe it. My parents accepted me. This is wonderful! I’m Free!!!!

This is a lie… In reality. The jocks beat up Jack. When he got home His dad and mother beat him in front of his brother. Saying it was an example. Jack later killed himself. People can be horrible no matter where you go. But there is a lesson here… Hold your head high… Pride and hope are the only way to survive the horrid world.
